Good vs. Bad Composition

The first picture portrays a good composition. I think that it applies the rule of thirds. This picture is good composition because has the most important details along the lines of the rule of thirds. The chair is on the lower left, for example, where one of the most eye catching places are in the rule of thirds. The genre is landscape. One thing that others may not see is the great detail in the photo. There's something all the way across the water, barley visible to the ones who look carefully.

The second picture portrays an example of bad composition. I think that this picture may have been balance. I would take out the items that get in the way; the fence, the shovels, the orange nets, the piece of cardboard, etc. Then I would zoom it out a bit more so it doesn't cut off his face, and add a little more nature to the scenery.
