The first time I typed on a keyboard must of been around first or second grade. In this section, I was mostly comfortable with typing because of the games and lessons I did when I was younger.
Spring Assignments 2018:
1/12/18 - Communication skills
Communication is an essential part of life that all living beings need to survive. There are many ways to communicate, such as speaking and body language. Communication allows humans to express themselves to others, and like the chart above, people communicate to tell others their name, age, or if they need help, feel sick, etc. Before one speaks, the message they are thinking about saying gets filtered through many layers inside of their mind before they actually say it. First, they have the thought, then they think if it will hurt the person's feelings, they would then think if it is needed to be said, they will try to understand how that person feels, then think in the other person's perspective, think about how the message would be interpreted on themselves, and finally actually say the message. Communication does not have to be verbal however. People who are deaf use sign language to communicate, they put their hands in different positions and preform gestures to talk to others. Body language can be used to communicate as well, quick glances or a smile can be interpreted as a sign of communication. Communication is always used, and not only humans use it. Other living organisms use communication too, such as insect and mammals. Without communication in the human world, people will feel lonely and isolated because no one would understand them.

04/6/2018 - Occupational Knowledge & Skills: Typing DK, SL and A;
My overall progress and performance has improved slightly each time I typed. Though the improvement may be slight, I am getting faster at typing.
04/9/2018 - Occupational Knowledge & Skills: Typing Shift Keys (left and right)
The left and right shift keys were a little new to me because I always reached for the left shift key and only the left shift key Using the right shift key was a new experience for me, so I was very slow at first.
Practicing the number keys were quite hard because it was hard to hit the right number keys without looking down at the keyboard. Also, the numbers were further from the home row keys, so I had to stretch my fingers a little to reach them.

05/01, 02/2018 - Self Illustration
My name is Vivian Nguyen. I have medium brown hair and a medium hair length. I chose these colors to put on my illustration because they are the same colors on my real photo. I also chose this background of the city of Tokyo because I really like this place for their culture and environment. I think that the most challenging part for this assignment was not deleting the lines that have not been shaded just yet. However, I have learned how to use the pen tool on Photoshop, and I also was able to explore and understand it's functions better now. I think the outcome of this project was a little worse than expected! I think that I made myself older than I actually look and the coloring is somewhat off,. I think that I have seen line art on cartoons and comics; sometimes, the artist may base a character off of a real life inspiration.

It takes 15-20 seconds minimum to 45 seconds maximum for an employer to review an applicant's form. You need a resume because it is a marketing tool to get an interview and for-fill the requirements. The applicant's name, address, email, and telephone should be in the header. The purpose of an objective is to communicate to the employer the position the applicant is interested in. This information should be placed in reverse chronological order. This assignment is related to the real world because when I am older, I will use a resume to obtain a job position that I want. However, a resume is not needed to get a job because a resume is meant to get an interview.

In this illusion, I can see that the image looks like it has two perspectives. The first perspective that I see is a person's face facing sideways, but then, at a second look, I can see that it is just half of a person's face and body. This is what creates the face illusion. I have seen these types of illusions in the professional world as well. For example, some people use these illusions to enhance their song albums so it looks appealing or intresting to others.

05/18/2018 - On the Cover
The text in my personalized magazine that I created on Photo Shop is was inspired by my teacher's website, and my own experiences. I did meet all of the expectations on the project, I had enough text, and I also had all of the basic ideas I was supposed to include. I also added some creative font and shapes to enhance my texts. As it says on the magazine cover, I am Vietnamese/Chinese, and am a non professional artist, pianist, and lover of ramen, anime, and the color orange. I aspire to keep a 4.0 GPA or something close to that through out high school, and I want to attain a scholarship in college. I have seen these projects in the real world at airports, and shops. Companies would be the ones organizing these magazines to advertise something on the magazine in the real world.
05/29/2018 - Birthday Invitation Card
In this unit, I know that typography is an important tool to enhance something. Before I knew what typography was, I thought that it had to do something with art and typing because typo is typing and graph is the root for draw. Now I know that I was partially correct; the meaning of typography is the art and style of printed matter. I applied typography in this project by adding different fonts onto the birthday card on Photoshop. Careers such as business, and advertising companies need to know about typography because these companies are trying to get people to buy their product or service, so they need their product to look appealing, therefore, typography is used. I know that I met all of the academic expectations needed by comparing my birthday card to other birthday cards. Some real companies that work on these types of projects are companies that make cards, design advertisements, etc. As I go around, I can see typography everywhere, from the fancy price tags at stores, posters at my school, to the font on my cereal box. Typography is everywhere, from the start of my day, to the end of it.
